About Us
True Ethiopian Cuisine Catering is a small family owned business dedicated to providing top-quality food and services. We specialize in traditional authentic Ethiopian dishes made with fresh high quality spices imported directly from Ethiopia all prepared to the highest quality standards.
VARIETY OF DISHES
Each dish has its own flavor and exotic taste. The national dish of Ethiopia is a spicy stew called Wot, which can be made with beef. lamb, chicken, lentils, chickpeas or vegetables, but it always contains spicy Berbere (red chill peppers). Alicha is a milder stew seasoned with red onion, olive oil, garlic and turmeric.
ETHIOPIAN BREAD OR INJERA
Injera is a sour, spongy flatbread made from Teff flour and is served with nearly all Ethiopian dishes. It is a rich source of iron, and fiber. We offer both Teff injera and white rice as gluten-free options, and most of our main dishes are gluten-free. While traditional Ethiopian cuisine typically uses a blend of wheat, barley, and Teff for injera, we also offer 100% gluten-free Teff injera upon advance request.

Vegetarian and Vegan
Each dish includes three rolls of Injera. Additional regular Injera is available for $3, while gluten-free Injera is priced separately. Please call for more details. We kindly request a minimum order of $35 for individual orders. Cancellations made hours before pickup will incur a 25% fee. We accept all major credit cards as well as Venmo and Zelle.

Pureed split red lentils stewed in our deliciously rich berbere sauce with onions, garlic and ginger.

Skinless cubed pieces of chicken cooked in special red sauce (berbere) and added red onion, garlic and clarified butter. Served mild or spicy.

Lean chopped lamb simmered in mild sauce with butter, onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric.
Catering Packages
True Ethiopian Cuisine is here to cater your next family dinner, birthday party, corporate lunch, or anniversaries. We can accommodate up to 100 guests, and we recommend placing your order at least 36 hours in advance. For cancellations, we ask for at least a week’s notice. If canceled a week before the event, we retain 25% of the payment. Cancellations made within two days or on the day of the event will incur a 50% fee. Prices for packages are shown before tax and we offer delivery.
